Back from the coast, into the sweat box
Me and P stayed at a friend's beach house on the coast Saturday night, and spent the whole day out there Sunday. Apparently, with inland temperatures around 100, everyone else had the same idea. And the main highway back was a 60-mile stop-and-go traffic jam. So thick that we detoured on scary logging roads and into another state, making a drive that normally takes 2 hours into one that took 31/2 hours.
And the problem with going somewhere cool is that you eventually have to return. And find your home so hot that it smells like it's melting.
